We now have ALERT BANDS!
Childcare and after hours care is growing, as is the number of kid's with allergies! Most centers and schools are experiencing a higher number of kids which can make it difficult to remember the children who have some sort of allergy, especially for casual staff!
We've worked with kids for such a long time and know the importance of recognizing an allergy and how much seconds count if someone shows any symptoms.
- How do you know if a child who is short of breath has just run around too much or is at the beginning of an asthma attack?
- You could pass off a little redness or swelling as a heat rash? It could be the start of an Anaphylactic reaction.
It's these subtle warning signs and the seconds that really count in these situations that warranted the need for Alert Bands.
As you can see in the above picture, we have 2 varieties. The more recognizable band featuring the words ALERT as well as the medical allergy symbol and the less branded version. We hope that children with an allergy of any kind will wear these bands continuously so teachers, staff or children can see that extra precaution or medical assistance may be required. You never know, it could save their life!
